Argyle is one of the few law firms which combine specialist family and relationship law expertise with commercial, estate planning, taxation and superannuation advice, offering our clients a comprehensive legal service. This thorough commercial approach leads to the provision of effective advice in relation to complex income and asset structures, commercial interests and their impact on the client’s family law position.
We appreciate the emotive and sensitive nature of family and relationship law disputes and we are committed to the protection of our clients' long-term interests and those of their families. Our view is that litigation should only be undertaken once all avenues of negotiated settlement have been exhausted.
Our team deals with all aspects of family law, including mediated and negotiated settlements, advice on issues relating to children, divorce, defacto relationships and spousal and child maintenance.

Family Law Services
Glenda Laurence, supported by her family law team, has extensive experience in:
- Property matters for married and/or de facto couples including same sex couples
- High value property settlements: This involves dealing with complex trust and company structures, covering business and personal assets. as with any family law matters, the object is to structure the settlements in a tax-effective way.
- Binding financial agreements: Couples are increasingly making binding financial agreements before marrying or entering de facto relationships, during a relationship or after a relationship ends. The agreements specify how assets will be divided in the event of the breakdown of a relationship.
- Asset protection advice
- Superannuation and family law: With the overall growth of superannuation savings and the popularity of self managed funds, the splitting of superannuation benefits is an increasingly significant part of property settlements.
- Alternative dispute resolution and mediation: These services provide a valuable alternative to long, costly and emotionally-draining litigation.
- Children’s matters: These include arrangements for the care of children, schooling issues, health issues and relocation overseas or interstate.
- Spousal maintenance and child support
- International child abduction (under the Hague Convention)
