Competition and Consumer Law

Competition and consumer law affects all business operators. The Commercial team at Argyle has experience in:

• advising on the implications of the competition and consumer laws;
• advising on all aspects of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, the Australian Consumer Law and associated competition laws including misleading and deceptive conduct, product liability and consumer guarantees;
• liaising with and representing clients before the ACCC;
• advising on marketing and advertising compliance; and
• advising on competition law aspects of mergers and acquisitions, contracts and other commercial arrangements.

The team’s expertise is based on understanding the issues facing businesses, knowledge of the legislation and sound strategies for dealing with the regulatory bodies including the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
