Our History
1982 – Townsend and Edstein Solicitors is born. Its only practice is in financial services.
1987 – Andrew Ireland and Peter Bobbin, current Principals and Directors of Argyle, join the firm.
1990s – Townsend and Edstein experiences significant growth, diversifying into specialist areas and expanding into distinct practice areas.
1995 – Family law is added to the practice.
1996 – Founding members of the firm, Peter Townsend and John Edstein, are no longer part of the business. Peter Bobbin and Andrew Ireland continue to develop and grow the firm.
1996 – The firm undergoes a name change and officially becomes The Argyle Partnership.
1999 – In March 1999, Insolvency and Commercial Litigation (now known as Dispute Resolution) are added to the practice.
2008 – Argyle joins Integrated Legal Holdings (ILH). ILH is one of the first ASX-listed law firms on the Australian Stock Exchange.
2011 – In August 2011, Argyle acquires Pacific Legal Network (PLN).
